City to discuss, vote on 23-24 budget at Monday meeting

Kingfisher city commissioners on Monday could approve an operating budget for the 202324 fiscal year.

The commission is holding a special meeting beginning at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.

Among the items on the agenda is an open public hearing on the proposed FY 2023-24 operating budget, one for discussion and possible action for comments discussed in the hearing and another to pass a resolution adopting the budget.

The resolution calls for an operating budget of just over $18.7 million.

Among the other items on the agenda are those to elect a new vice mayor; an executive session to discuss annual appointments of city attorney, municipal judge, city clerk and city treasurer; the annual agreement between the city and the Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce, an agreement with Kingfisher County Emergency Medical Services 522 District; a collective bargaining agreement with International Association of Firefighters Local 3434; and several others.

There are also agendas for Kingfisher Public Works Authority, Kingfisher Special Projects Authority, Kingfisher Recreational Authority and Kingfisher Hospital Authority.

Operating budgets will also be discussed and acted on for the KPWA, special project and recreational authorities.

Commissioners will review and confirm the appropriations of the 1 percent dedicated hospital sales tax.
