CHARTS, NOT ART – City of Kingfi sher’s staff, department heads and commissioners aren’t checking out an art exhibit. Rather, they’re discussing some of the city’s needs. The group gathered last Tuesday at Interbank Community Room for a project planning prioritization workshop. “We reviewed community needs for street improvements, water, electric and wastewater improvements and long-term planning studies and assessments,” said City Manager Dave Slezickey. Commissioners attending were Wendell Prim, Geoff Covalt and Kyle Mecklenburg. Mayor Roxie Alexander was unable to attend due to a death in the family and Commissioner Ryan Deatherage was not present due to a prior commitment. Those attending reviewed needs and assessed all needs on criteria of impacts of failure versus deferment of projects, economic impacts of projects, and benefi ts for the community of the various projects, Slezickey said. City staff will present the results at the October regular meeting for project priority approval by the commissioners.
