Coming up in and around Kingfisher. . .
The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation Commission will hold its regularly- scheduled meeting this week in Kingfisher County.
The meeting is 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at The Cedar Gate, located on County Road N2740 west of Kingfisher.
Commissioners will meet in the Event Legacy Barn.
The public is invited to attend.
The eight-member commission meets monthly.
Commissioners represent multiple counties within their district.
Kingfisher County is part of District 6, which is represented by John P. Zelbst.
Other counties within the district are Blaine, Canadian, Caddo, Grady, Comanche, Stephens, Jefferson and Cotton.

Parlor Jams
On the last Saturday of August, September, and October, The Chisholm will present a series of jam sessions in the parlor room of Horizon Hill, the home of Territorial Governor A.J. Seay.
The sessions are from 1-3 p.m. with the next one being set for Sept. 28.
Each session will start with a performance by Wayne Cantwell, also known as the “Flyin’ Fiddler,” followed by an old-time jam session.
Musicians of all levels are encouraged to attend this learning opportunity and sit and play alongside seasoned performers.
New players are encouraged to watch, listen, and join in, along with professional musicians playing traditional “old-time” hits, said Jason Harris, the museum’s executive director.
The event is free for musicians who would like to participate (acoustic instruments only) and will be open to museum visitors to observe.
