Commissioners approve chip and seal bid
Kingfisher County commissioners approved a construction contract and notice to proceed with Circle C Paving and Construction of Lawton to provide oil and chip and seal projects in all three districts at their weekly meeting Monday.
Commission Chairman Anthony Schwarz said the company has indicated it plans to begin work in May.
In a separate action commissioners approved a call for bids on asphalt overlay projects in all three districts.
Specifications are available from the county purchasing agent in the offices of County Clerk Emily Lee and County Engineer Nik Smith.
A pre-bid meeting has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, April 17 in the commissioners’ office in the courthouse, Room 9.
Bids will be received until 4 p.m. on May 2 and opened at the commissioners’ regular meeting on May 5.
Kingfisher County Emergency Manager Ryan Deatherage reported the county office would hold a “table top” exercise – a practice of its emergency response plan – Wednesday at Cimarron Electric Cooperative.
Other actions taken by the commission included:
• Approval of a right-ofway permit to install a threeinch poly line for Ovintiv Energy in District 1 six miles east and three miles north of Okarche;
• Approval of a permit for Oklahoma Gas Co./Glenn Energy to install a 12-inch LP gas line, four-inch HPGL and a three-inch oil line two miles south and one-half mile west of Loyal, in District 3;
• Approval of a notice to bid for labor and materials for a water line replacement for Kingfisher County Rural Water District No 3, and,
• Approval of appropriations and transfers for the month of March 2025 and monthly reports from County Assessor Carrie Turner, County Clerk Emily Lee, Court Clerk Lauren Stroh, Treasurer Robin Rother, the health department and election board Secretary Shawna Butts.
All commissioners – Schwarz, District 3; Mike Sparks, District 2, and Jeff Moss, vice chairman, District 1 – were present along with Lee, county clerk and official minute clerk; County Engineer Smith, Sheriff Aaron Pitts, Unreplacement dersheriff Ed Cangiano, Kingfisher County Emergency Management Director Ryan Deatherage, and Kingfi sher citizen Kelly Buck.
