Kingfisher citizens are encouraged to attend a community conversation this week in regards to the construction of a new fire station for the Kingfisher Fire Department.

And they’ll get to eat, too.

The City of Kingfisher is hosting the open forum at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, at the Kingfisher County Fairgrounds Exhibit Building.

Members of the fire department will be serving homemade chili to those who attend.

Citizens will have the opportunity to see and/ or discuss:

• The architect’s floor design and building plan;

• Construction cost challenges; • Extending the dedicated sales tax;

• Construction schedule;

• Other options. Among those on hand to discuss the issues will be Fire Chief Ryan Gibson, City Manager Jim Thomas, Mayor Geoff Covalt and other city commissioners.
