Company donates materials pit to county
Kingfisher County commissioners accepted the donation of a road material pit available to all three county commissioner districts from O&S Land, LLC, Monday.
The pit is located 12 miles west and one-half mile north of Kingfisher in District 3.
The donation includes 20.5 acres of land, more or less, and buildings in a tract of land with the legal description, Section 22, Township 16 North, Range 9 West, Kingfisher County.
Commissioners also gave notice to proceed on a $259,793 contract with Legacy Brothers, Inc., of Mebane, N.C. to provide a command trailer for the county Emergency Management Service office.
Legacy’s bid was accepted last week. Delivery is expected within six months.
In other action, commissioners approved the following:
• Request for county payment for burial of John Dee Harnsburger of Hennessey;
• Removing Chelsi Stone and Emma Maschino as receiving officers for Big Four Fire Department and adding Lakota Bullard;
• Right-of-way for Enlink Midstream/ MDM Acquisition Services for a 6.625-inch steel pipeline located five miles west and two miles north of Okarche, District 3;
• Notice to bidders for a fall chip and seal contract for all districts (Bids will be received in the county clerk’s office until 4 p.m Sept. 19 to be opened at the Sept. 22 county commissioners’ meeting);
• A $300,000 attorney general’s funding assistance grant to the sheriff’s office;
• $500 payment to the law office of Durbin, Larimore and Bialick in a lawsuit – Kingfisher County vs. Michael and Pat Barrackman; • Declaration as surplus of a laptop, laptop computer with case, a transformer for generator, portable radio and two gas detectors for emergency management office;
• Declaration as surplus for a laptop computer, three radio components and radio system component for county’s 911 Emergency Calling Office, and,
• Notice to bidders for salt-sand spreader for Commissioner District 2.
District Attorney Tommy Humphries attended the meeting with Assistant D.A. Joshua Conaway to introduce Conaway to the commissioners. Conaway is serving the multiple county district on civil matters, Humphries said.
All commissioners were present – Anthony Schwarz, District 3, chairman; Michael Sparks, District 2, and Jeff Moss, District 1 – along with Undersheriff Ed Cangiano, County Engineer Nik Smith, citizen guest Kelly Buck, and County Clerk Emily Lee as official minute clerk.
