Construction of Robberts Street bridge nears start
Replacement of the Uncle Johns Creek bridge on East Robberts Avenue is one easement away from being ready to start.
Kingfisher County commissioners approved a series of action items last Monday preparatory to building the bridge.
The documents included affidavits stating the county will include construction and maintenance of the bridge in the county highway system and approving Pinnacle Consulting to complete the easement work at a cost of $2,200.
One property easement has yet to be signed, District 1 Commissioner Jeff Moss told the Times and Free Press after the meeting.
A contract authorizing construction of a bridge in District 2 received approval.
District 2 Commissioner Ray Alan Shimanek moved to accept the telephone quote of Dean Horn and Son of Sayre to build the bridge at a price of $42,000 plus $35 per foot for additional piling over 40 feet–$250 per splice.
Other quotes were provided by Rick Dietz ($52,000 and $50 for additional piling over 40 feet and welding), and Railroad Yard ($55,750 with $35 per foot for additional welding for piling over 40 feet – $300 per splice).
Commissioners approved placing a new four-way stop sign at the intersection of County Road NS 2810 and EW Road 740. The intersection, which has been deemed hazardous, is located three miles west and six miles north of Kingfisher.
Commissioners approved an application for burial-cremation costs for Lisa Ann Terry, 47, of Kingfisher.
Commissioners approved soliciting bids to build a parking lot on the space formerly occupied by the county sheriff’s office, south of the courthouse.
Commission Chairman Heath Dobrovolny, District 3, said the actual solicitation resolution will appear on next week’s agenda for final action.
Commissioners approved solicitation of sixmonth bids for road and bridge materials and commercial roadway work for all three county districts.
Durango Services received approval for building an access drive one-half mile east (south into) of the intersection of E790 Road and N2860 Road.
Permits received approval for county pipeline crossings for the following:
• K&J Construction – 12-inch and three-inch lines at a location three miles east and four miles north of Kingfisher, and 12-inch and three-inch lines located three miles north and one mile east of Kingfisher, all in District 1.
• Enlink Midstream – four-inch steel gas line located three miles east and five miles south of Omega, and four-inch gas line located two miles east and five miles south of Omega, both in District 3.
An application to remove Tamara Hurd and name Tommy Humphries as requisitioning officer in the district attorney’s office received approval as did proposed asphalt overlay projects in all three districts, including: District 1 – EW 890 Road (248th Street/County Line Roads) for a distance of five miles beginning at Reeding Road intersection and extending west; District 2 – N2890 and EW590 Road, and, District 3 – NS 270 and EW 770 Road.
Present for the meeting in addition to commissioners included County Clerk Jeannie Boevers as official minute clerk, and County Engineer Nik Smith.
