Cool temps, rain could continue
After a week of generous rainfall, along with cooler weather, more of the same may be in the offing for the coming week.
The rainy week brought upwards of four inches of moisture to Kingfisher County and adjacent counties.
The rain broke midsummer drought conditions as well as bringing welcome moderate daytime high temperatures after weeks of temperatures bumping 100 degrees and above.
The local forecast calls for additional showers Saturday and Sunday and high temperatures ranging in the upper 70s to mid-80s throughout the coming week.
Overnight lows were predicted as follow: Saturday 67˚, Sunday 64˚, Monday 61˚, Tuesday 59˚, Wednesday 59˚, Thursday 52˚ and Friday 56˚.
Kingfisher rainfall totals for the past week were 3.21 inches at the National Weather Service Station in Kingfisher and 4.24 inches at the Mesonet station immediately west of Kingfi sher.
Other Mesonet rainfall totals for the area included 4.12 inches at El Reno, 4.46 inches at Guthrie and 4.73 inches at Watonga.
