County approves District 3 equipment purchases

By

Equipment purchases for District 3 took center stage at Kingfisher County commissioners’ weekly meeting Monday.

Two new John Deere 6M 155 tractors were purchased off the state Sourcewell contract for a net price of $12,000.

The purchase price of the new tractors was $352,234.16 but a tradein of $340,234.16 reduced the net cost to the county to $12,000.

Three bids were submitted for a 2022 or newer six-wheel drive diesel motor grader with Cummins Equipment of Oklahoma City submitting the winning bid of $310,000.

Yellowhouse Machinery Co. submitted a bid of $398,464.

Equipment Share of Oklahoma City submitted a bid of $255,517 but District 3 Commissioner Anthony Schwarz commented that bid did not meet specifications and moved to accept the Cummins bid, which was approved unanimously.

Commissioners voted to disapprove a mutual aid agreement with surrounding counties. District 2 Commissioner Ray Alan Shimanek’s motion to disapprove came because the county already has agreements in place covering everything in the new one, Commission Chairman Jeff Moss explained. The motion was approved.

In other action, commissioners approved a right-of-way agreement allowing Mustang Gas Products to cross a county road starting and ending in NE NW of 9-17-9 in District 3, monthly reports for the offices of sheriff, treasurer, county clerk, assessor, court clerk and court clerk preservation fund and health department, disposing of a 300 GL aluminum body and skid unit for the Okarche Fire Department, a final payment of $13,500 for the remaining portion of federal funds for the county hazard mitigation funds and appropriations for the month of September.

The mutual aid agreements were turned down because the county already has a plan in effect for mutual aid, fully protecting the county.

All commissioners were present– Jeff Moss, District 1, Shimanek, District 2, and Schwarz, District 3, County Clerk Jeannie Boevers as minute clerk, County Engineer Nik Smith, City-County Emergency Management Director Ryan Deatherage, LeEllen Peat of Cummins Construction Co. and Dusty Bittle of Yellowhouse Machinery Co.
