County calls for road bids

By

Kingfisher County commissioners issued a call for bids for oil and chip work in all districts Monday at their weekly meeting.

Chairman Heath Dobrovolny said the early bid notice was being issued earlier than usual because a number of projects this year will involve double coats and none of the county’s suppliers offer three-eighth-inch chips, which will be needed for the projects.

Bids will be received until 4 p.m. March 18 at the office of County Clerk Jeannie Boevers and will be opened at the regular commissioners’ meeting March 21.

Specifications for the bids are contained in a bid packet available at the county clerk’s office.

The update on COVID-19 cases contained good news.

The Monday report showed that active cases had dropped 111 since last week’s report.

The report showed 109 active cases in the county, which follow by community and a comparison to last week’s numbers:

Cashion – eight, down 19;

Dover – none, down six;

Hennessey – 43, down 22.

Kingfisher – 48, down 61;

Loyal – five, up five;

Okarche – five, down eight, and,

Omega – none, no change.

Commissioners approved Court Clerk Lisa Markus’ monthly financial and preservation reports and a list of county employee salaries for publication.

District 1 Commissioner Jeff Moss and District 2 Commissioner Ray Alan Shimanek attended the meeting along with guests Monty and Lyndsi Taylor of Dover, Keb Lehenbauer of Railroad Yard in Stillwater and Boevers as official minute clerk.

Shimanek announced a safety meeting on Wednesday and Dobrovolny announced a legislative breakfast meeting Wednesday at ACCO headquarters in Oklahoma City.
