County cleans up some inventory
Kingfisher County’s inventory is officially much lighter after this week’s meeting of commissioners.
Commissioners on Monday approved disposing of 44 items ranging from chairs, desks and radio equipment to excavators, graders and semi-trucks.
A bulk of the items - 28 - belonged to Kingfisher County 911.
Another four were from the health department, five each from Districts 1 and 2 and the other two from District 3.
Those moves were approved unanimously by Commission Chairman Heath Dobrovolny of District 3 and Jeff Moss of District 1. Voting in place of District 2 Commissioner Ray Shimanek was the district’s foreman, Clay Vincent.
On top of that, eight items from the assessor’s office were declared as surplus.
The 22-minute meeting also saw the commission approve the Hazard Mitigation Assistance Grant.
The agreement is between Kingfisher County, the state Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, more specifically the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
Hazard mitigation assistance provides funding for eligible mitigation measures that reduce disaster losses.
Kingfisher County’s is eligible to receive a $60,000 grant for its plan provided the county matches 10 percent of that ($6,000).
That can be through actual funding or an in-kind match.
Also approved was a notice to bidders for a dump truck for District 3.
The specifications include 2020 or newer, minimum of 420 horsepower and 3,700 miles or fewer.
Bids are due by 4 p.m. Friday, April 14, at the Kingfisher County clerk’s office at the courthouse.
