County commission, Town of Hennessey continue agreement to house prisoners

By

An annual agreement with the town of Hennessey received the Kingfisher County commission’s approval.

Authorizing prisoners of the Hennessey Police Department to be held in the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center, the agreement was approved at last Monday’s regular meeting.

The agreement is on a year-to-year basis and may be terminated by either party with 90-days written notice.

The agreement calls for the county to be responsible for the safe and secure custody of Hennessey prisoners with the town of Hennessey responsible for their records.

A daily fee of $49.88 per day per prisoner will be charged.

Sheriff Dennis Banther and Hennessey’s town clerk signed the document, effective, Feb. 27.

Commissioners approved a change in the requisitioning officer for the Big 4 Fire Department from Joey Maschino to Clayton Morse.

Two property items in the county clerk’s office were declared surplus – four file drawers, a drawer cabinet and a roller shelf.

Monthly reports from the sheriff, county clerk, treasurer, assessor and health department received approval.
