County commissioners consider 16 water line bids
Kingfisher County commissioners opened 16 bids on a water line replacement for Kingfisher Rural Water District No. 3, then tabled action to allow a committee of district members who attended the meeting to study them.
The winning bid will be announced at next Monday’s meeting.
The bids ranged from a low of $254,850 to a high of $555,445.

Bidders attending included Derrick Brown of Northern Pipeline, Chris Goff of Gradework Construction; Holton Hernandez of Mach Energy, Danny Sparks of UTS Supply and J.D. Kliewer of Heartland Utilities.
Commissioners also approved a resolution allowing the Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Department to accept a $5,000 donation from Marathon Oil Co. to equip department vehicles with safety equipment such as fire extinguishers and First Aid kits.
In other action commissioners approved routine items such as minutes from the April 21 meeting, purchase orders and warrants and payroll as well as three public access driveways in District 1, including one for Ryan Gifford eight miles east and three miles north of Kingfisher, one for David Rhoads and one for K2 Homestead, both located 10 miles east of Kingfisher and slightly north of S.H 33, and state reimbursements for the offices of district attorney and election board for the months of December through March.
Present for the meeting were all commissioners – Anthony Schwarz, District 3, chairman; Jeff Moss, District 1, vice-chairman, and Mike Sparks, District 2 – along with County Clerk Emily Lee, minute clerk, County Engineer Nik Smith, Sheriff Aaron Pitts, Undersheriff Ed Cangiano, Emergency Management Director Ryan Deatherage, citizen visitor Kelly Buck and Kevin Lane, representative of P&K Equipment Co.
