County hazard mitigation plan gets OK’d
The Kingfisher County Hazard Mitigation plan update received approval Monday from county commissioners.
City-County Emergency Management Director Ryan Deatherage said the fiveyear plan has been completed and is at the state office.
The county plan was prepared in accordance with the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 with the assistance of the Northern Oklahoma Development Authority.
In other Action commissioners approved a public access drive request from Wagon Wheel Wind project located three miles south and 11 miles east of Hennessey in District 2, the monthly state reimbursement forms for the county district attorney and election board offices, the low bid of $41,000 from Dean Horn of Sayre for a 40-foot bridge located one-fourth mile west of the intersection of E790 Road and N2720 Road in District 3.
All commissioners were present – Jeff Moss, District 1, chairman; Ray Shimanek, District 2, vice chairman, and Anthony Schwarz, District 3 – along with County Clerk Jeannie Boevers, minute clerk, County Engineer Nik Smith and Deatherage.
Lauren Stroh visited the meeting room briefly prior to the start of the action agenda.
