A Hennessey man was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-vehicle accident 13 miles west of Hennessey just before 4 p.m. Saturday. Nov. 13, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.

Juan Coronado, 48, was driving south on County Road 2730 in a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe when the vehicle departed the roadway to the left just south of S.H. 51.

The SUV struck an embankment, continued through some trees and rolled one and a half times, coming to rest on its top.

Coronado was pinned inside the vehicle for an unknown period of time before he was freed by the Okeene Fire Department, according to the OHP report.

He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and speeding in excess of the legal limit is listed in the OHP report as the cause of the collision.

The accident was investigated by OHP Trooper Mark Williams of the Kingfisher County detachment, assisted by Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Office, Okeene Fire Department and Kingfisher Fire and EMS.
