County man facing child porn charge
A Hennessey man remained in jail early this week after being arrested and charged with a felony related to possessing child sexual abuse material.
Arrested July 21 and charged four days later in Kingfisher County District Court was Jason Krisofer Steers, 47.
He’s facing a count of buying/possessing/procuring child sexual abuse material, which carries a sentence of up to 20 years in prison and/or up to a $25,000 fine if found guilty.
According to a probable cause affidavit signed by Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Deputy Austin Miller, the officer received an email July 21 with a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Data System “with connection to child pornography.”
Working on another tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), Miller stated he searched five recent IP addresses through the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN).
That search revealed 173 videos or images that were downloaded to an email address linked to Steers from March 19 through April 4, according to the affidavit.
“The multiple minors in these images are described as juvenile females approximately 10 to 12 years of age,” according to the affidavit. “The minors are shown in different lingerie sets.”
There was also a video longer than 10 minutes that showed “a prepubescent minor female undressing and exposing herself,” according to the affidavit.
While serving a search warrant at Steers’ home, Miller stated in the affidavit that Steers said all the materials were on his laptop, then requested an attorney before speaking further.
Court records did not indicate when Steers was scheduled to appear in court.
