County OHCE has annual Fall Council meeting

Kingfisher County OHCE members met Nov. 12 for their annual Fall Council meeting at the Scissortail Crossing Events Venue.

Queen Bees OHCE served as the host group.

Dot Miller, county OHCE president, presided over the business meeting and conducted the flag salute and OHCE Creed.

The minutes were led by Ashley Cowan Neal, county secretary.

Desiree Austin, county treasurer, submitted the treasurer’s report.

Lindy Peterman, FCS Extension educator, provided information on the county fair results for the old business portion of the agenda.

Miller discussed OHCE scholarships, awards and requested a vote for a membership cut-off date for entering under an OHCE club for the county fair.

Peterman handed out 50-plus-year membership certificates and presented information on the HUGS and Coats drive for Santa’s Toyland.

Miller requested nominations for vice president and secretary.

Loretta Kretchmar was nominated for and elected vice president and Neal was re-elected as secretary.

Peterman installed the offi cers using a candy-themed installation.

Audry Sanders, Kingfisher Memorial Library children’s librarian, spoke to the group about library activities.

She also shared about the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.

Miller closed the meeting and invited everyone to stay for lunch.

Queen Bees led the group in a devotional and blessed the food. The group dined on sandwiches and soup for their meal.
