County OKs dozens of road, bridge bids

Some three dozen vendors responded to Kingfisher County commissioners requests for bids on road and bridge materials and services Monday.

The respondents submitted bids on items from tree surgery to asphalt application for the first six months of 2022.

Commissioners accepted all bids and ordered staff to organize the bids from lowest to highest so that they can be utilized as needed beginning at the start of the new year.

Commissioners accepted a low bid of $51,272.76 from Sunbelt Equipment for steel bridge material for District 1 for a bridge project currently in progress. A second bid of $53,861.68 was submitted by Railroad Yard.

Commissioners also approved a schedule of expenditures of federal awards for the 2021 fiscal year totaling $528,379.66, largely involving road projects.

A schedule of county commissioner meetings for the calendar year of 2022 received approval. The commission will continue to meet each Monday, except on those Mondays that a holiday falls. In those cases, the commission will meet on the ensuing Tuesday.

Commissioners declared surplus the following items by county office:

Treasurer – two Xerox Phaser copiers, a Xerox Phaser printer and Xerox Phaser color printer.

Assessor– Tripp-Lite Backup Smart 1500.

Engineer – ASUS computer and monitor.

Road crossing permits were approved for Oklahoma Gas and Electric Co. on North County Road 2740 14 miles west of Hennessey in District 2 and Markwest Energy Operating Co for three four-inch lines two miles north of Okarche and immediately west of U.S. 81 in District 3.

Those present at the meeting included Chairman Heath Dobrovolny, District 3 commissioner; Vice Chairman Jeff Moss, District 1 commissioner; Ray Alan Shimanek, District 2 commissioner; County Clerk Jeannie Boevers, minute clerk; Engineer Nik Smith and Circuit Engineering District 8 executive Donnie Head.
