County OKs handbook changes

Kingfisher County commissioners approved adjustments to the county handbook, related to alcohol and drug testing and CDC guidance on COVID 19 policy at their weekly meeting Monday.

In a mainly routine meeting, they also approved payment of $7,000 to Pinnacle Consulting Management Group for work on the Uncle John Creek bridge on East Robberts Avenue.

The bridge is scheduled for replacement. Pinnacle assessed costs for right-of-way necessary for the removal of the old bridge and construction of a new one.

An item on the agenda for discussion of a materials request form from Circuit Engineering District 8 was passed over after Board Chairman Heath Dobrovolny (District 3) reported the matter had been handled in July.

A resolution authorizing disposal of an old printer and copier-scanner for District 2 (Ray Alan Shimanek, commissioner) received unanimous approval.

Several permits for oil and gas company pipeline crossings received approval as follow:

• BCE Mach III Midstream – Three 10-inch poly lines in District 2 at the following locations: one mile south and eight miles east of Dover, permits for two lines one mile north and eight miles east of Dover, and a fourth for a 12-inch line one mile south and eight miles east of Dover.

• K&J Construction – two permits in District 2, one for a four-inch poly line located one mile south and two miles east of Dover, and another for a 12-inch and a three-inch line one mile south and eight miles east of Dover.

• Ovintiv USA – four lines in District 3 including: a 12-inch lay flat line five miles west and one mile north of Kingfisher; a 12-inch lay flat line five miles east and two miles south of Omega, a three-inch poly one mile north and fives miles west of Okarche, and a 12-inch lay flat line four miles west and two miles north of Kingfisher.

• McDonald Land Services – permit for a 12-inch lay flat line five miles west and two north of Kingfisher, District 3.

Dennis Holmes, First Deputy in District 1, represented Commissioner Jeff Moss at the meeting. Moss continues to recover after recent open heart surgery.

A COVID report showed nine more cases in the county this week compared to last week with the following number of cases by community: Cashion – 10, up five; Dover – no cases; Hennessey – 34, up eight; Kingfisher – 19, down three; Loyal – no cases, Okarche 13, down one and Omega – no cases. Also present were Monty Taylor of P&K Equipment who reported on progress in obtaining parts for District 3 equipment, County Engineer Nik Smith and County Clerk Jeannie Boevers as official minute clerk.
