County OKs rural water bids
Kingfisher County Commissioners authorized solicitation of bids for improvement of the Okarche Rural Water District system at their weekly meeting Tuesday.
The work under one of the contracts includes water line replacement, trenching and reconnections with existing water meters.
The second contract calls for 48,090 linear feet of six-inch PE DR11 in place, nine six-inch gate valves, seven connections to existing lines 2,600 linear feet of directional bore for creek crossings, 475 linear feet of road bores and casing and all appurtenances.
Plans and specifications are available in the office of County Clerk Jeannie Boevers.
Bids will be accepted in the county clerk’s office until 4 p.m. on July 29 and will be opened at the commission’s regular meeting on Aug. 1.
Bidders are required to submit a 5% guaranty bond with the bids which will be returned to unsuccessful bidders after approval of the contract to the successful bidder.
Successful bidders will be required to post a 100% performance bond, 100% statutory bond and 100% maintenance bond upon approval of the contract.
Commissioners approved a bid of $24,000 from Conquest Construction of Edmond for repairs, cleaning and painting building exteriors of the courthouse and annex.
Reimbursement of certain expended funds as authorized by state law from the county general fund were approved for the offices of court clerk, law library and election board.
Commissioners adopted the Kingfisher County Cafeteria (health insurance) plan for the new year.
The annual resolution designating county depository banks received approval.They include BancFirst, F&M Bank, Community National Bank, Community State Bank and State Treasurer of Oklahoma.
Additionally, commissioners authorized County Treasurer Robin Rother to invest surplus county general funds, county highway funds and industrial authority funds.
FDIC Depository agreements were approved for F&M Bank, BancFirst and Community National Bank.
Certificates of $2 million surety bonds for the county clerks and county treasurers of Blaine and Canadian counties received approval.
A youth detention agreement on an as needed basis with Pittsburg County Regional Juvenile Detention Center received approval.
County right-of-way road crossing permits were approved for the following:
• Bluefin Water Solutions – 60-day permit for a 12-inch lay flat water line located 10 miles east of Hennessey, District 2.
• Recoil Oilfield Services – line located three miles north and three miles west of Kingfisher,District 1.
• Estack, LLC – 10-inch lay flat line located three miles south and three miles east of Kingfisher, District 1.
• K&J Construction – two locations in District 2, including one for a 12-inch lay flat line five miles south and eight miles east of Hennessey, and a second location six miles east of Dover for 12-inch and four-inch lay flat lines.
• Cimarron Electric Coop – 60-day permit for a location five miles south of Kingfisher, District 1.
Changes for the Hennessey Library were approved as follow: adding Steven Mitchell as requisitions officer and Ann Taylor as receiving officer and removing Lyndsey Kopsa as requisitioning officer and Jennifer Valles as receiving officer.
A contract with Tisdal and O’Hara to represent the county on assessment related issues was renewed and a written investment policy was approved.
Dennis Holmes, District 1 first deputy and road foreman, attended the meeting in place of Commissioner Jeff Moss. District 2 Commissioner Ray Alan Shimanek and District 3 Commissioner Heath Dobrovolny, chairman, completed the board members attending. Boevers attended the meeting as minute clerk.
