County opens annex demolition bids, extends burn ban for week
Kingfisher County commissioners opened six bids on demolition and disposal of the county annex building Monday, but tabled action until next week’s meeting to allow time for additional study.
Bidders and their bids in order of opening follow: Jackson Civil – $136,891.10.
Mid-West Wrecking $97,840.00.
K&M Dirt Service – $75,600.00.
Allen Ellis Construction – $219,375.00.
Total Demolition – $110,621.00.
American Demolition – $87,000.00 Commissioners voted to continue the county’s burn ban for one more week through next Monday.
The original declaration was for a two-week ban. Exemptions to the ban are welding, cutting torch or grinding.
Commissioners also approved the following action items:
• Approval of a resolution establishing longevity pay for county employees who have been employed for a minimum of two years (list to follow);
• A State of Oklahoma credit card program for eligible users linking Kingfi sher County to a credit card program of Bank of America; • A right-of-way approval for Recoil Oilfield Services for a 12-inch fresh water line located near the intersection of county roads N2980 and E850 at Cashion in District 1;
• Renewal of an annual Emergency Management performance grant program through the state of Oklahoma;
• Authorizing Emergency Management Director Ryan Deatherage for “delegation of authority” for the grant for the 2024 fiscal year,
• Authorizing contracts and notice to proceed for labor and materials needed to build a new shop addition and office remodeling for the District 1 headquarters, and,
• Authorizing solicitation of bids for a 2020 or newer six-wheel-drive diesel road grader with less than 1,750 hours of usage and equipped with rear-mount ripper-scarifier with front end scarifier and all standard equipment for District 1.
Bids for the grader will be received at the office of the Kingfisher County Clerk until 4 p.m. Nov. 22 to be opened at the regular meeting of county commissioners on Nov. 25.
Longevity payout established by state law for employees follows by length of service: At least two years but less than four years, $250.
At least four years but less than six years, $426.
At least six years but less than eight years, $626.
At least eight years but less than 10 years, $850.
At least 10 years but less than 12 years, $1,062.
At least 12 years but less than 14 years, $1,250.
At least 14 years but less than 16 years, $1,500.
At least 16 years but less than 18 years, $1,688.
At least 18 years but less than 20 years, $1,900.
At least 20 years, $2,000. The full amount is payable in one lump sum annual payment to eligible full-time employees and part-time employees working more than 150 hours per month (1800 hours per year). Part-time employees working fewer than 150 hours per month and employees whose service includes regular annual periods of leave without pay of more than 30 calendar days will receive a prorated amount based on actual hours worked in the immediately preceding 12 months.
