County premium sale brings in more than $128K for area youth
Once again, Kingfisher County showed up for its area youth.
More than $128,000 was raised last Monday during the Kingfisher County Spring Livestock Show’s bidder’s feed and auction.
After feasting on steaks, bidders contributed a total of $128,700 to 100 county exhibitors who made the sale with their various livestock.
Of those who made the sale, 26 were from Kingfisher, 21 from Cashion, 19 from Lomega, 15 from Hennessey, 12 from Okarche and seven from Dover.
The top swine bid came in at $4,000.
The top beef exhibit went for $3,400 while the highest bid for a sheep was $2,500 and $1,600 for the top goat.
There were a total of 265 animals exhibited by local 4-H and FFA students during the stock show, which was held Feb. 18-20.
There was also a pre-beef show for exhibitors under 8 years old. There were six of them who represented Lomega, Cashion and Okarche.
