County to rebid project to move generators
Kingfisher County commissioners turned down two bids on moving a generator and building a concrete pad at the fairgrounds Monday.
The bids were opened last week and tabled for action this week to allow additional study.
Bids were received from O&P Construction, Yukon of $49,388 and RPC Operations of Kingfisher of $108,014.
Tanner Richards of RPC Operations, who attended Monday’s meeting, said he followed all requirements in the bid solicitation but could have provided a lower bid, suggesting the project be rebid.
County Commission Vice Chairman Ray Alan Shimanek moved to disapprove both bids and the motion received approval.
Commission chairman Jeff Moss indicated the project would be rebid later.
During the discussion portion of the meeting, City-County Emergency Manager Ryan Deatherage reported he had reviewed the county’s mutual aid agreement with surrounding counties and felt Kingfi sher County’s liability was adequately protected under the current documents.
