County renews agreement with CED

Kingfisher County Commissioners voted to continue their agreement with Circuit Engineering District No. 8 with District 2 Commissioner Michael Sparks as its representative to the board of directors at their weekly meeting Monday.

CED No. 8 is a government organization that provides engineering assistance to counties in northwest Oklahoma, including Beaver, Cimarron, Ellis, Grant, Harper, Kay, Kingfisher, Major, Texas, Woods and Woodward.

Commissioners also took the following actions in a 10-minute meeting:

• A change order on the county’s fall chip and seal agreement with Zyzer of Kingfisher, adding miles in District 2;

• Notice to bidders to provide labor for construction of a bridge on Shafenberg Road, north of EW 840 Road in District 1;

• Notice to bidders to do ballot printing for the county election board;

• Right-of-Way approval for Ovintiv Energy to cross a county road with a 16-inch lay-flat line four miles south and two miles west of Kingfisher in District 3;

• Right-of-way approval for work of AT&T Enterprises starting in Section 21-16-5 and ending in Section 15-16-6, District 1, and,

• Minutes of regular meeting held Oct. 14, purchase orders, warrants and payroll for Oct. 20, 2025 for FY 24-25 and FY 25-26.

All commissioners were present for the meeting – Anthony Schwarz, chairman, District 3; Sparks, District 2, and Jeff Moss, vice-chairman, District 1 – as well as County Clerk Emily Lee as minute clerk, County Engineer Nik Smith, Undersheriff Ed Cangiano, Keb Lehenbauer of Railroad Yard in Stillwater, Gentry Taylor of Shuterra Vegetation Management Solutions, Dover, and citizen visitor Kelly Buck of Kingfisher.
