Kingfisher County commissioners tabled bids Monday on a conversion that would provide the Dover Fire Department with a tanker truck.

Two bids were opened during the commissioners’ weekly meeting.

The original notice requested bids that would convert a 1995 Freightliner into a tanker truck.

One bid was submitted from Cooper Creek Manufacturing of Loyal for $99,500.

Another bid from J&J Custom Fire of Pawnee consisted of three potential prices.

The number submitted for the bid as specified was $69,900.

Another figure was for stainless steel instead of galvanized and was $76,600.

A final bid for $68,900 was if the existing platform was used.

Commissioner Ray Shimanek made a motion to table the bids for further inspection.

“I’d like to talk to our people at the Dover Fire Department and then we can award next Monday,” he said before the motion passed unanimously.

Commissioners voted to approve a three-inch pipeline crossing for Ovintiv. It begins six miles south and about two miles east of Kingfisher in District 1.

Also approved was an access drive with a 15-inch culvert for Pintail Oilfield Services in District 1.

Commissioners at last week’s meeting voted unanimously to deny a road right of way for Oklahoma Gas & Electric in District 2.

The move came on Shimanek’s recommendation.

That was after they moved to approve a threeinch line for Recoil Oilfield Services.

Also at the Aug. 9 meeting, they voted to approve the Emergency Management Performance Grant for fiscal year 2021 in the amount of $20,000.

The emergency management department receives those funds quarterly.

Commissioners also gave approval for Northern Oklahoma Development Authority dues in the amount of $3,500.

At this week’s meeting, a resolution was approved that allows the county to accept 4,920 yards of shale from Best Pit, owned by Bryan Best.

This is the second donation in three weeks and the shale is used by District 1.

Commissioners also received their weekly COVID-19 report, which stated there were 68 positive cases in the county.

That number was 41 at the Aug. 9 meeting and 24 on Aug. 2.
