County to seek bids for oil and chip work in District 1; six-month bids receive ‘OK’

By

Kingfisher County commissioners approved going out for bids for oil and chip work on county roads for District 1 at their weekly meeting Monday.

Bids will be received until 4 p.m. July 19 in the office of the county clerk and will be opened at the regular commission meeting on July 22.

Specifications are included in the bid packet, which is also available in the county clerk’s office.

Commissioners also approved the county resale property fund financial report of County Treasurer Robin Rother.

The treasurer is required to file a financial statement of the fund by June 30 of each year with the county clerk for approval of the board of county commissioners, citing the necessary reserves made or anticipated to cover the following: 1. The cost of preparing and making delinquent tax publications; 2. The purchase of necessary records, printing and supplies and the payment of clerical hire; 3. To pay claims and encumbrances for the upkeep, repair and maintenance of unsold properties; 4. To pay all rebates allowed by the board of county commissioners or the board of tax roll corrections upon taxes found to have been illegally or erroneously collected; and, 5. To pay for tax sale certificates or issue of deeds on lands or lots on which no tax was due or as to which the sale thereof was illegal for any reason.

Commissioners also approved the six-month bids opened a week earlier as tabulated – lowest to highest – for county road construction services for the next six months.

Also approved were:

• A public service access drive for White Rose Homes on NS2980 Road (Section 1-15-5) in District 1,

• Two pipeline crossings in District 2 for BCEMACH III Midstream Holdings, one a 12-inch salt water line and one a 10-inch gas line, both located three miles south and five miles west of Hennessey, and,

• A $633.75 payment for right-of-way to improve drainage near a bridge on the Dover-Crescent Road resurfacing project east of U.S. Highway 81.

All Commissioners – Jeff Moss, District 1, chairman; Ray Alan Shimanek, District 2, vice chairman, and Anthony Schwarz, District 3, were present for the meeting, as well as County Engineer Nik Smith and County Clerk Jeannie Boevers as minute clerk.

Moss reported that he would attend a pre-construction meeting on the Phillips Bridge replacement project, east of U.S. 81 on Lemon Road, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, and would also attend a Northern Oklahoma Development Authority board meeting Thursday at Enid.
