December tax checks up for 5 towns, county
Kingfisher County cities and towns mostly saw larger sales tax checks from the Oklahoma Tax Commission.
Kingfisher County’s tax from a 1.25% tax doubled in December compared to the December 2020 amount.
Kingfisher, Hennessey, Cashion, Loyal and Okarche all saw sales tax increases in December compared to December of last year.
Checks were higher for many area cities and towns as depicted in the accompanying chart.
The December 2021 distribution of sales tax collections by the Oklahoma Tax Commission primarily represents local tax receipts from October business. Companies that remit more than $2,500 monthly in sales tax receipts are required to file and pay electronically. The monies they reported this period represent sales from Oct. 16-31 and estimated sales from Nov. 1-15.
The disbursement of $181,366,976 in sales tax collections returned to the cities and towns reflected an increase of $26,718,165 from the $154,648,811 distributed to the cities and towns in December last year. The use tax disbursement to cities and towns was $29,808,194.
In county returns, the counties shared in a $30,163,292 sales tax disbursement and a $5,526,001 use tax disbursement.

Kingfisher County – $156,263.68 and $98,867.80.
