Devon Energy donated to 17 organizations in western Oklahoma as part of its commitment to supporting emergency responders in the company’s operating areas.

Among the agencies receiving a donation were fire departments in Kingfisher, Okarche, Loyal and Omega as well as the Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Office.

“Emergency responders put the community’s needs first on a daily basis, and they must have the proper tools to do their jobs well,” said Lee Courange, Devon superintendent.

“We’re honored to support the people who protect and serve, especially during tough economic times.”

• Calumet Fire Department

• Cogar Volunteer Fire Department

• Custer County Sheriff’s Office

• El Reno Fire Department

• Geary Volunteer Fire Department

• Greenfield Volunteer Fire Department

• Hinton Volunteer Fire Department

• Hydro Volunteer Fire Department

• Watonga Fire Department

• Weatherford Fire Department

The donations will help the organizations purchase needed equipment and better serve their local communities.
