District attorney visits county commission meeting
New District Attorney Tommy Humphries paid a visit to Kingfisher County commissioners Tuesday.
He was not on the agenda, so he didn’t speak during the meeting, although Commission Chairman Heath Dobrovolny noted his presence and welcomed him to Kingfisher County.
Humphries, previously the first assistant in the district, was appointed by Gov. Kevin Stitt to the offi ce following former D.A. Mike Fields’ retirement earlier this month.
Humphries has named Eric Epplin, former assistant D.A. in Kingfisher County, as his successor as first assistant for District 4.
Commissioners approved several actions on road projects in District 2 during the meeting, including naming Circuit Engineering for construction management on a threemile paving project on the Dover-Crescent Road and approving a 20% county construction match.
Commissioners also approved a public access drive for Canvas Energy LLC with a 24-inch culvert in District 1 near the District 1 shop north of Kingfisher and a right-of-way easement for Howard Drilling Co. to install a 12-inch lay flat line at a point four miles south and two miles east of Hennessey in District 2.
They also approved a right-of-way permit for K&J Construction LLC for 12-inch and three-inch lay flat lines at a point one mile north of Dover, also in District 2.
They declared as surplus a 2002 tractor and sweeper for District 2 and a ladder truck for Cashion Fire Department.
