DOVER BOARD OF TRUSTEES
There are three candidates who filed for two four-year seats on the Dover Board of Trustees.
They are Angela Kubat, 54; James Michael Walters, 72, and Rena Walters, 37.
Voters will select two candidates on their ballots and the top two vote getters will be elected to the board.
Only Mrs. Kubat replied to the Times & Free Press questionnaire.
The newspaper attempted to contact both James Walters and Rena Walters by phone, email and mail, but they did not reply.
ABOUT THE CANDIDATES
Angela “Angie” (Humphries) Kubat, 54, currently works at The City Cafe and has worked there for three years.
She was the Dover Public Schools cafeteria manager from 1998-2013, worked at Roosters Restaurant, 201315, and B&B Liquor Store, 2020-23.
She is married to Brian Kubat who works at Pioneer Telephone. They have two children and both are Dover High School graduates: Chris (2011) and Alyssa (2016).
Kubat is a 1988 DHS graduate.
This is her first time to file for a public office.
Two-Year Unexpired Seats
There were two open seats on the Dover Board of Trustees for two-year terms and Brenda McNulty, 63, who currently serves on that board, and Calvin Dhonde, 39, were the only two to file for those trustee jobs so they will automatically go on the board.
QUESTIONS FOR CANDIDATES
Tell voters why we should vote for you: Angela Kubat: “As a lifelong resident of Dover I understand its unique needs and values. I have a deep commitment to our community and I am dedicated to ensuring our town thrives and addresses all challenges. I believe in open communication, responsible decision making and ensuring a town where everyone’s voice is heard. I would be honored to serve and help shape our town’s future for the better.
What are the top two issues, or projects, in your town that need immediate attention? If elected, what will you do about them?
Angela Kubat: “I would possibly like to see a parttime police officer/code enforcement position and more community involvement and events.”
