Dover FFA’s agronomy, meats teams keep busy

Dover FFA’s agronomy, meats teams keep busy

Over the past two weeks, the Dover FFA chapter has stayed busy with Meats and Agronomy competitions.

They’ve traveled all over the state of Oklahoma and around the surrounding states.

From Alva to Texas, back to Kansas and Wilburton, they’ve barely stopped since the FFA season has started.

At Eastern Oklahoma State College Interscholastics, the meats team brought home the bacon with first place as a team, with Alec Schilde placing third highest overall and Evelyn Chavez placing fourth overall.

The agronomy team also brought home some victories by winning first as a team and Gabby Cervantes fourth overall.

At Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Dover’s Meats teams took first and second place.

Evelyn Chavez took home highest individual followed by RJ Harrison, second, and Alec Schilde and Damion Turner tying third.

Colton Burns placed fifth and Erin Guinn sixth.

Agronomy brought home another first place team award.

Fatima Aboite placed as the highest individual, followed by Pedro Valles second, and Gabby Cervantes third.

At Redlands, the Meats team took home third as a team with Evelyn Chavez as third highest individual.

In Agronomy, Dover took home first as a team with Gabby Cervantes as fourth highest individual and Pedro Valles as fifth.

The Meats team traveled to Kansas and Texas and brought Oklahoma a second place award as a team from Kansas at Fort Scott Community College.

Alec Schilde was third overall.

In Texas, they took home 13th at the Texas Tech Invitational.
