Dover vote set Jan. 10

By

OG&E is asking Dover voters to approve another franchise agreement allowing the utility to continue distributing electricity within the town for the next 25 years.

The special municipal election on the proposition is scheduled for 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10.

If approved, the proposition gives OG&E the right to produce, transmit, distribute and sell electricity within the city limits.

The utility also will continue to construct, maintain and operate its system of poles, wires, conduits and other equipment on public rights of way, providing compensation to the town for such purposes.

Votes will be cast at the normal polling places and voters will be required to show their voter registration card or a photo ID, as they would for any election.
