Theta Tau Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha met Monday, Nov. 21, at the First Christian Church Fellowship Hall.

President Paige Krause opened the meeting with the ritual and conducted the business meeting.

Misty Blundell gave the devotional.

Terri Peck, educational director, introduced Theta Tau member Cynthia Eaton, who spoke about the history of the Meacham Photography Studio, a longtime Kingfisher business on Main Street.

Eaton pointed out that her father, Gene Meacham, took senior pictures for the Kingfisher seniors, worked with the Kingfisher Police Department and took pictures for all the happenings in Kingfisher.

Meacham, along with his wife and four daughters, was also a part of the photography studio in developing the pictures and business.

Upon Meacham’s retirement, all his many, many files of pictures were given to the Chisholm Trail Museum where they are archived today for those individuals doing research.

There may also be some of his photography equipment on display.

The members present for the meeting gathered for a group picture in presenting a donation of $1,000 to Brittany Hladik for Santa’s Toyland under the guidance of Kingfisher Community Collaborative.

The St. Jude dinner 50 for $50 was a success with over $1,000 made for the St. Jude event.

Members worked Nov. 28-29 and will work Dec. 1-2 baking for Winterfest on Dec. 3.

There will be a limited amount of Aunt Bill’s candy available.

Gift cards have been sent to Oklahoma School for the Deaf and Oklahoma School for the Blind for the students’ Christmas gifts.

Cathy Holsted, convention chairman, hosted the 2024 State Convention Committee at her home in Yukon on Nov. 11 with Stormy Simmons, co-chair, and Ramona Paine representing Theta Tau Chapter, one of the host chapters, was present.

The next meeting will be 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, hosted by the Social Committee for dinner and secret sister gift exchange at Eaton’s home.

Karen Castonguay and Krause served refreshments and drinks to members Karen Edgar, Paine, Eaton, Peck, Debi Trout, Stormy Simmons, Holsted, Dana Terrell, Madell Henderson, Dana Golbek, Allie Carter and Blundell.
