Kingfisher County is preparing to serve as a pilot program for an Emergency Management disaster recovery program to be applied to all 77 Oklahoma counties.
Commission Chairman Heath Dobrovolny reported during county commissioners’ weekly meeting Monday that he and deputy county Emergency Manager Ryan Deatherage would coordinate with state emergency management officers beginning at 1 p.m. Tuesday to help develop the program, some of which will deal with county roads and bridges.
District 2 Commissioner Ray Alan Shimanek observed it was his opinion that such a program should have been initiated at the onset of emergency management.
Commissioners referred two plans for a permanent OSU Extension office on the county fairgrounds prepared by Corbin, Merz, & Haney Architecture and Interior Design to the extension staff for recommendations as to which best suited their needs.
The permanent structure is planned for construction on the east side of the fairgrounds, on the south side of the street entering the fairgrounds from 13th Street.
