End of year brings growth, leadership for members
CASHION FFA
November was a busy month for the Cashion FFA Chapter as members grew through competitions and leadership activities.

Their results are as follows:

• Livestock Judging Team: Team members Maggie Carroll, Jaxton Bailey- Casey, Grace LaBlue and Tinley Roberts placed fifth overall.
• Eighth Grade Agricultural Explorations Public Speaking: Eli Hoesli placed third.

Additionally, the FFA Sporting Clays Senior Team competed at the Oklahoma FFA State Contest where it placed ninth overall. Team members include Jakob LaBlue, Colby Swickey, Garet McKeever and Kyler Sylvester.
Lastly, FFA members competed at the American Farmers and Ranchers Northwest Area Speech Contest.

Besides competitions, FFA members attended the chapter’s November meeting, which had a theme of “Friendsgiving.”
Members brought non-FFA friends to enjoy the night of Family Feud and FFA stations created by the officer team to showcase the opportunities available in the FFA organization.
During the middle of November, members attended the Adventures in Agriculture Conference at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City.
There, they learned about the opportunities a future career in agriculture brings and listened to keynote speaker Natalie Kovarik as she recounted her own experience in taking risks in agriculture.
Members spent the day exploring the museum and visiting stations hosted by various professionals in the agriculture industry.
To wrap up the month, a group of members attended the Guthrie Leadership Conference, where they spent the day listening to a keynote speaker and breaking into small groups hosted by Oklahoma FFA state officers.
All who attended gained insight into the roles that leadership and commitment will play in their future, as well as practices to put in place to inspire positive change in the classroom and FFA organization.
From contests to leadership activities, November brought opportunities for growth and development to members of the Cashion FFA Chapter.
