Extension planning barn quilt workshop
Kingfisher County Extension will host a workshop on barn quilts next month.
The workshop is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at the Kingfisher County Fairgrounds Exhibit Building.
Participants will learn more about what barn quilts are, how to create one and how to register their barn quilt.
Barn quilts are painted wooden quilt blocks that are hung on a barn or on a house.
Lindy Peterman, Kingfisher County FCS Extension educator ,will present:
• How to Make a Successful Barn Quilt;
• The Materials Used to Make a Barn Quilt;
• Combining the Right Colors to Make a Masterpiece;
• How to register your Barn Quilt for the Oklahoma Barn Quilt Trail.
It’s requested to RSVP for limited space in the workshop by July 27 by contacting the Kingfisher County Extension Office at 405-375-3822.
The meeting has a registration fee of $30, due at RSVP, and is open to the public.
Boards and materials are covered in the registration fee. Attendees are asked to bring a hair dryer.
This is a pot luck luncheon. Refreshments are provided.
