Candidates for the Kingfi sher County Fair Board can file for election Monday through Friday, Jan. 16-20, in the county clerk’s office at the courthouse.

County Clerk Jeannie Boevers said an election will be held from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, in the courthouse lobby to fill three positions on the board.

One board member will be elected from each of the three county commissioner districts and each will serve a three-year term.

Incumbents whose terms are up this year include David Gerken, District 1; Mike Witt, District 2, and Mark Walta, District 3.

Candidates must be bona fide electors living within the commissioner’s district they seek to represent.

If no candidates file for election, the county commissioners are required to appoint someone to fill the vacancies.

The three members elected in February will serve with six holdover members, including: Terms expiring in 2024 – Jeff Henrichs, District 1; Luke Lough, District 2, and Frank Staude, District 3.

Terms expiring in 2025 – Terry LaBlue, District 1; Kevin Harrison, District 2, and Shane Clifton, District 3.
