Farmerettes gather for January meeting

By

The Hennessey Farmerettes, an Oklahoma Home and Community Education group, met at the Hennessey First Christian Church for its January meeting.

Pansy Wheeler called the meeting to order. The flag salute was led by Paula Nicholson and Wheeler gave the devotion.

Marge Patocka was introduced and welcomed as the group’s newest member.

Ten members answered roll call by sharing if anyone in their family had previously suffered a stroke or heart attack.

The minutes were read and approved and Kathy Patocka shared an interesting joke with the group.

Jamie Akenhead gave the treasurer’s report.

Volunteer forms were distributed and members were asked to list all their volunteer projects, time and money contributed.

Members gave suggestions for new club projects and also discussed continuing the projects from the previous year.

The 2025 yearbooks were distributed and members volunteered as lesson leader or hostess for the upcoming year.

Members were encouraged to attend the district meeting in Watonga in March.

Wheeler reviewed the club’s activities which are leading towards the Standard of Excellence Award.

Items from the county newsletter were discussed and volunteers who participated in the Reality Check program gave a positive report about the program.

Members sang “Happy Birthday” to Kathy Patocka.

The meeting was adjourned.

Prior to the meeting, members assembled craft bags for children at the Hennessey Library.
