Farmerettes hold February meeting

By

Hennessey Farmerettes met Feb. 10 in the country home of Jean Stribel.

Nine members were present.

Stribel served a ham and beans and cornbread lunch with an Asian cabbage slaw.

The meal was opened with prayer followed by the meeting opening by President Dot Miller leading the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mary Curry gave the devotion entitled “Power of Love.”

Roll call was answered by members telling about their favorite brand of cake mix.

The minutes of the January meeting were approved as read.

It was announced a love gift donation has been given to the Norma States memorial fund in her honor. She was one of the original founders of Hennessey Farmerettes.

Several dates and places of events scheduled - available for members - were discussed.

Everyone was asked to keep a list of all the time they spend doing volunteer work for other organizations and what they do.

Lily Rourke won the quarter drill for January and February.

The meeting adjourned. Stribel gave the lesson on cupcake and cake decorating ideas. She distributed several pages of pictures showing and explaining how to make everything.

She served several decorated cupcakes and some cake for refreshments, plus several candies.

The March meeting will be hosted by Curry, who will also provide the lesson.
