Farmerettes hold meeting

By

The Hennessey Farmerettes met Jan. 13 at the Wellness Mercantile in Hennessey for the group’s first gathering of 2022.

President Dot Miller opened the meeting by welcoming everyone and leading the Pledge of Allegiance.

The devotion was given by Pansy Wheeler.

Roll call was answered by seven members telling of fire experiences they’d had in their lives.

Minutes of the November meeting were read, corrected, then approved. The treasurer’s report was given by Jean Stribel.

Best Choice labels were received, which the group uses to support its yearly service projects.

A thank-you note signed by members attending the December meeting was given to Stribel for her hosting the Christmas meeting and for all she’d done and provided for the celebration.

A short discussion about barn quilts was had by several members.

The 2022 yearbooks were distributed. Members checked for correct names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and birthdays.

Months were chosen to be hostess/lesson leader for 2022.

It was decided for Margie McConnell to continue sending postcards to members reminding them of meetings and events.

Officers and committee members for 2022 were approved as presented.

The meeting was adjourned and an informative lesson was provided by Miller about fire safety, precautions and making homes inside and out more resistant to fires.

Refreshments of pie, with several choices, tea and soft drinks were served.

Miller was the lesson leader and hostess.
