Farmers welcome more rain
More rain showers fell across Kingfisher County on Saturday.
Local rain gauges measured in the one-inch range while Rick and Robin Johnston recorded 1.5 inches at their residence northwest of Dover Local Weather Observer Steve Loftis reported .93 inch at the National Weather Service Station in Kingfisher.
Jeff Moss reported .7 inch at his residence near College Hill, east of Kingfisher; Twila Adams reported one inch at her residence five miles east of Kingfisher and Mike Reid reported 1.1 inches at his residence five miles southwest of Kingfisher on Park Community Road.
Okarche Grain and Feed Elevator, west of Okarche, recorded .75 inch and Wheeler Brothers Grain Elevator at Omega reported .9 inch. Cashion Grain and Feed’s rain gauge had caught a half inch by 1 p.m. Saturday, Manager John Schaefer reported.
Ray Shimanek estimated a little over a half inch at his residence near Hennessey but said a neighbor reported 1.5 inches.
“It was real spotty,” he said.
