Chase Farrar, right, was the guest speaker at the the Altrua Literary Club’s meeting Wednesday at the Chisholm. Farrar is president of Kingfisher Winter Nights and discussed the history of the organization with club members. Farrar also provided details of a new attraction for this year’s event. Placed at the entrance of KWN will be a 50-foot Norwegian spruce tree. The tree is being shipped here from Michigan. The tree will be the main attraction of a lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. when KWN officially opens for the season Saturday, Nov. 30. Farrar also mentioned the ongoing repairs of the train track at the park, which will allow the train to be a popular attraction. There were more than 2,500 people who rode the train last year, he said. Kingfi sher Winter Nights will run through Dec. 28 this year, said Farrar.
