Farrar inducted into APCA Hall of Fame

The late Morris Farrar founder of Farrar Construction in Dover - was recently inducted into the American Pipeline Contractors Association Hall of Fame.

The induction was made Oct. 3 in Savannah, Ga., during the APCA’s Mid-Year Meeting.

Randy and Sherry Farrar attended the banquet to receive the award in his father’s honor.

Morris Farrar began pipelining in 1949 and worked for several different companies before becoming general superintendent for P&A Construction.

Morris and his wife, Barbara, moved to Dover in 1962 while he was working for P&A.

In 1968, Morris and Barbara started their own pipeline company, Farrar Construction, Inc.

At that time, the company consisted of eight employees.

By 1980, it had grown to 300 employees.

Morris joined the Rocky Mountain Pipeline Contractors Association in 1977.

Its name was later changed to American Pipeline Contractors Association.

Morris served as a member, board member and past president of the APCA, which consists of pipeline contractors from across the United States.

Morris and Barbara retired in 1996 and sold the company to their three sons - Randy, Steve and Mark - who still operate the company today.

In accepting the honor on behalf of his father, Randy called Morris “the hardest-working dude I ever knew” and “a great man.”
