If 2020’s abbreviated or canceled Independence Day celebrations left you hankering for a really big bang this year, you’re in luck.

Between Cashion, Kingfisher and Hennessey, local residents can enjoy three days of July 4^th celebrations without ever leaving the county.

FRIDAY, JULY 2^ND

CASHION BOOM FEST

Ben Kates Park, 6 p.m.

A family-friendly evening of live music from Emily Faith Sanders and Souled Out, kids’ games, inflatables and food trucks, followed by a patriotic fireworks display at dusk.

L’IL MISS, MISTER FIRECRACKER

Heritage Auditorium, 6 p.m.

Cuteness overload as local children ages 2-5 are interviewed on stage by the current Kingfisher County Distinguished Young Woman, and four are selected to ride in Saturday’s parade as L’il Miss and Mr. Firecracker 2021.

SATURDAY, JULY 3^RD

KINGFISHER’S RED, WHITE & BOOMFEST

10 a.m. Downtown Parade –

Former chamber manager Judy Whipple rides as parade marshal in Main Street freedom celebration.

Kingfisher Park Activities

2-4 p.m. Free Swim, Vernie Snow Aquatic Center.

5 p.m. Fun & Games –

• Face painting, pony rides, train rides, food trucks.

•Games for prizes – balloon toss, turtle race, coin dig.

6:45 p.m. – Hot wings eating contest.

7 p.m. – Free watermelon feed.

7:30-9:30 p.m. – Live concert with Emily Faith Sanders, Homier Field.

Dusk – Fireworks display sponsored by the city of Kingfisher visible in and around Homier Field.

SUNDAY, JULY 4^TH

HENNESSEY CELEBRATION

12-5 p.m. Free Swim, Hennessey Aquatic Center; concessions also available.

Dusk – Fireworks display sponsored by the town of Hennessey, staged at the south end of the practice field at Mitchell Road and Oklahoma Avenue and visible in and around the football stadium.
