Can the Okarche girls make it three in a row?

Can the Cashion boys win their fourth straight?

Can Kingfisher’s boys win their eighth straight (well, sort of anyway)?

Those questions will be answered by Saturday night at the latest as the first of two big tournament weeks this month begins Thursday.

All seven local schools will be represented in four different tournaments across the western part of the state.

Four of them - Cashion, Crescent, Hennessey and Okarche - will take part in the Three Rivers Conference Tournament at Enid’s Stride Bank Center.

Okarche’s girls have won the tournament two straight years and are the No. 1 seed in 2022.

The Cashion boys had never won the tournament before 2019, but now own three straight conference crowns.

They, too, hold down the top seed.

Just on the north side of Enid - at Chisholm - the Kingfisher boys take part in the 53rd annual Wheat Capital Tournament.

Again, they are the No. 1 seed as they’ve won the tournament seven of the last eight years.

The only year they haven’t won in that stretch was 2019 when the Jackets sent their JV team after taking part in the Tournament of Champions.

The KHS girls aren’t part of this year’s field as they took part in last week’s Mustang Holiday Classic.

Just a little west of there is the Okeene Invitational.

Dover is part of those brackets as the Lady Longhorns gun for their second tournament title of the season.

Then further west is the Warrior Classic in Hammon.

The Lomega boys hold down the No. 2 seed in their bracket.

Lomega’s JV girls are also taking part as the varsity played last week in the Mid-America Classic (see story on Page 3).
