Kingfisher County’s annual Distinguished Young Woman scholarship program (formerly Junior Miss) is slated for 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, and involves four county high school juniors. In addition to the Distinguished Young Woman title, qualifying the winner to attend the state program in Bartlesville next summer, the girls will compete for college scholarships in several categories, including talent, interview, poise, fitness and more. This year’s talent will include two monologues (Stover and Hamil), singing (Davis) and piano (Themer.) “Life Is a Highway” is the theme of this year’s program, directed by Tiffanie Barnett and Katie Ward.
