No appointment is needed for anyone ages 12 and up to get a free Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine in Hennessey Friday, July 23, from 10 a.m. until noon.

The shots are offered by the Hennessey Public Schools and will be given in the seminar room at the school auditorium at 213 N. Walnut.

Free sports physicals for students will also be available, but an appointment is required by calling 405-856-2156 (ask for Araceli).

The vaccine will be provided by the District 2 Mobile Team and the Kingfisher County Health Department.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention asks everyone to get the shot and specifically urge school children 12 and up to receive the vaccination at least two weeks before the start of school.

Hennessey students return to school August 12.
