Fuxa seeking election to District 3 county commissioner’s seat

[ Ed. note: Brandi Fuxa has authorized the Times & Free Press to publish the following paid political announcement of her candidacy for Kingfisher County District 3 Commissioner, subject to the Aug. 27 special election.]

My name is Brandi Fuxa and I am running for Kingfisher County District 3 Commissioner.

I have over five years’ combined experience working in county government in Kingfisher and Canadian counties.

I have lived in Kingfisher County since 1989 and live in Okarche with my husband, Matt, who works at P&K Equipment and farms in Loyal.

My husband is my biggest supporter.

I have two sons, Landon and Ben; siblings, Tina, Bud and the late Adam Hardin; and an adorable nephew, Jett.

My parents, David Hardin and Rhonda Hardin, taught me the importance of hard work, determination, always going the extra mile and helping others at every opportunity.

My dad is the pastor at the Calumet Baptist Church, where I am a member, and he has worked in law enforcement for over 30 years. My mom has worked at the Center of Family Love for the past 30 years.

I look forward to continuing their public service legacies by serving as your next Kingfisher County District 3 Commissioner.

I have worked for the commissioners’ office, have county budget training and have taken numerous training classes through the Association of County Commissioners of Oklahoma.

A few of the specific training classes I have completed that will provide valuable experience are County Budget Training, Ethical Behavior for Local Governments and HR recruitment and Selection.

I currently serve as the human resources coordinator for Canadian County and prior to county government, I worked as a director of residential services for a non-profit organization.

There, I completed an annual budget, supervised around 25 employees and managed the department within the budget.

My experience in county government has equipped me with the skills necessary to be the next county commissioner for District 3.

If elected, I will prioritize transparency, safety and inclusivity in all aspects of governance and I would be honored to earn your vote Aug. 27.
