Gettings set to take oath as Hennessey town clerk
Kelley Vaverka Gettings was the lone candidate for the Hennessey Town Clerk position and will soon take her oath of office along with newly-elected Town Trustees Bert Gritz, Clif Vogt and Randy Bohnstedt.
This is Gettings’ first time to hold a public office. Her main duties will be to take minutes at meetings and post meeting dates and agendas.
She will replace Kati Walters who has held that office for the past five years, but decided not to run again.
Gettings, 57, is a 1984 HHS graduate. She attended Rose State College where she was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She has worked for Love’s Country Store for six years and has been an operations manager for a year.
The new clerk is married to Matt Gettings, who works in pipe recovery in the wireline division for Thru Tubing Solutions.
Her son, Christopher Thomas, is a 2006 HHS grad and a 2012 OSU grad in mechanical engineering. Her daughter, Lyndsay Lyon, is a 2010 HHS grad and a 2014 OSU marketing graduate. She has two grandsons, Aidan Patrick and Lukas Thomas.
