Superintendent David Glover received a vote of confidence from the Kingfisher Board of Education.

A unanimous one. The board voted Monday to extend Glover’s contract another year during Monday night’s January regular meeting.

“He’s doing a good job,” said board president Jim Perdue after the meeting.

“We’re all on the same page and he continues to get us headed down the right path and is fixing a lot of bridges.”

Glover was hired in June 2022 after a tumultuous stretch that included two superintendents searches in just over a year’s time.

Glover was originally hired on a two-year contract.

Monday’s action extends that through the 2024-25 school year.

The financial details remain unchanged, Glover said.

“I appreciate the board’s confidence,” he said. “I’m excited to continue working to get us on the right track around here.”

The district currently has multiple improvements under way or set to begin soon, including an addition to the ag barn, renovation of the football field concession stand and restrooms, and a new locker room facility on the south end of the football field.

As the district remains flush with funds, plans are currently being made for a major renovation at Gilmour Elementary School.

Glover also discussed further with the board on Monday about potentially calling for bids to turf the football field and the high school softball field.

“This is such a good place and a good school,” Glover said.

After holding multiple superintendent positions, most recently Okarche, Glover was out of public education for a decade as he was an assistant director at the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association.

“I’ve really enjoyed getting back into this and just being around the kids,” Glover said. “I really appreciate the board allowing me to do this.”
